Calculating your Liner size
By following this simple method you can calculate the cost of your own liner. Please ensure that all measurements are in feet not metres:
1. Find the floor area by multiplying the width by the length.
- for Circular constant depths, multiply the diameter by itself. - for Oval, Kidney or Irregular pools, multiply the maximum length by the maximum width. -fo L-Shaped pools, divide the pool into two rectangles and calculate each rectangle area seperately. - for pools with bay areas, calculate each area seperately.
2. Then if the pool is:
- Constant depth or slope - Rectangular, Circular or Oval - Multiply by 1.0 - Constant depth or slope - Kidney, Irregular, L-shaped or with bay - Multiply by 1.2 - Hopper or wedge - Rectangler - Multiply by 1.3 - Hopper or wedge - Oval - Multiply by 1.5 - Hopper or wedge - Kidney, Irregular, L-shaped or with bay - Multiply by 1.7
3. Find the wall area by multiplying the perimeter of the pool by the depth of the sidewall
- For vertical walled sloping pools, the deepest depth of the sidewall should be used - For Circular pools, the perimeter is: the diameter x 3.142 - The perimeter of staright sided oval pools is calculated by (width x 3.142) x (2 x (length - width)) - for overlap liners add 6" to the pool wall height.
4. Add the floor area calculation to the wall area. This will give the total area of the liner needed.
5. Multiply the total area by the square foot price structure. This will give you the cost of your liner.
